Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing how medicine is practiced across the world and Interventional Radiology is no exception. With the power to improve diagnosis, make procedures safer, and support better outcomes, AI is quickly becoming essential in healthcare.

To stay ahead and help shape the future of our field, PAIRS is launching a dedicated AI Subcommittee. This group will focus on promoting education, research, innovation, and practical AI integration in Interventional Radiology throughout the Arab region and beyond.

Vision

To become a regional and international reference point for Artificial Intelligence in Interventional Radiology, fostering excellence in education, research, and real-world application. Our vision is to inspire and support a new generation of interventional radiologists who are equipped to lead in the era of intelligent healthcare, while ensuring ethical, transparent, and patient-centered use of AI across all levels of practice.

Mission

To lead the educational, clinical, and research integration of Artificial Intelligence in Interventional Radiology within the Arab world. The AI Subcommittee of PAIRS aims to promote awareness, provide high-quality training, support scientific innovation, and build a collaborative platform that bridges technology and clinical expertise. We strive to empower physicians to harness AI responsibly and effectively, enhancing patient care, workflow efficiency, and future-ready healthcare practice.

Meet The Members

Dr. Haytham Nasser

Professor of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology, Ain Shams University, Egypt

A dedicated contributor to PAIRS and member of its AI Subcommittee, Dr. Nasser specializes in cutting-edge IR procedures including MRI/US fusion navigation, focal prostate therapy, and transplant interventions. He leads the Uro-Intervention Unit at Alfarabi TLTC and serves on liver transplantation teams across Egypt. An international speaker on AI applications in IR (PAIRS 2024), vascular malformations, and fusion techniques, he actively advances IR education through postgraduate courses. Dr. Nasser holds memberships in EGSIR, EAU, and PAIRS, with extensive publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is committed to leveraging AI to enhance image-guided therapies and clinical excellence in the Arab region.
