Mohammad Al Moaiqel joined the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Section at the King Abdulaziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard, Riyadh, KSA in 2003 where he served as the Head Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology as well as the Deputy Chairman of Medical Imaging Department.  From 2004 to 2008 he was appointed as Director of the Residency Training Program in the Medical Imaging department.  In 2010 he was recruited at the King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences where he was appointed an Assistant Professor in College of Medicine and recently as the Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program.

Dr. Moaiqel graduated from King Saud University in Riyadh, KSA and completed his radiology residency at mcGill University in 2001. He successively received advanced fellowship training in both abdominal imaging and non-vascular intervention at McGill University in 2002 and vascular and interventional radiology at University of Toronto with the award of excellent performance in 2003.

His clinical interests includes the disease management, treatment of adult and pediatric vascular diseases and minimally invasive, image-guided therapeutic and non-interventions.  Dr. Moaiqel performed minimally-invasive image guided procedures such as chest tube placements, percutaneous drainages abscesses, biliary drainages and feeding tube insertion. His focus is also venous access for dialysis and chemotherapy patients, angioplasties for renal access and peripheral arterial disease and embolization procedures for active bleeding, tumors and fibroids, RFA ablation for liver tumor.

Besides his interest in clinical service and research, he is passionate about resident and fellow teaching. He has recruited and trained several vascular interventional radiology fellows and has won several “excellence in teaching” awards.

Dr. Moaiqel is actively involved in vascular and interventional radiology research and he has published in prestigious journals as well as presented his work at national and international radiology meetings. He is a frequently invited speaker and moderator at national and international conferences.

Dr. Moaiqel is a senior member of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society, American College of Radiology, American College Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Interventional Radiology, Radiological Society of Saudi Arabia and American College of Phlebology.
